Graduate Student / Early Career Award, which recognises outstanding work in the cognitive and evolutionary sciences of religion.
This award is dedicated to the legacy of John J. McGraw, whose work made important contributions to the cognitive study of religion. Trained in cognitive anthropology at UC San Diego, his research focused on the rituals of the highland Maya of Guatemala, particularly the Tz’utujil community. He also served as a TESIS Research Fellow at Aarhus University’s Interacting Minds Centre, contributing to interdisciplinary work at the intersection of cognition, culture, and religion.
